View Full Version : Brig's first haircut!! (Pix)

Yesterday was a big (read: emotional) day for us! Brig had his 2 year well check-up and his first haircut. For the first time ever he didn't scream at the ped's and he is still in the 90th percentile for height and weight. (Which is puzzling because we are small people and he is a VERY picky eater!)
Then we took him to a friend's barber shop to have his hair cut for the first time. He was such a good guy (until she turned on the blow dryer ;)) which was also surprising considering he's easily frightened and not open to new things like this. Anyway...goodbye surfer do and hello clean cut big guy. (Um...this is where I cry. :()

OMG!!! an instant transformation!!

What an absolutely handsome guy!! And he doesn't look that big to me! How big is he?

Which reminds me I REALLY need to get my boys' hair cut - especially since Ashton starts school next week and Holden starts Gymboree the following week!

Wow, Trish. What a change. He looks so different from the little guy I met at the retreat. Very handsome--just perfect for an "almost big brother". : )

I know how hard the transitions are--dh always accuses me of holding them back and keeping them babies as long as I can (e.g., slow on introducing solids, sippy, giving up paci, etc).

Thanks! He's 36 3/4" and 33lbs. 5oz. He's slimmed down a ton this past year.

that just doesn't seem all that big to me!!! heheh ...

though I know of a little (ok, big) girl who was 45lbs @ 2years old and 39in tall!!! Pretty big girl but she honestly didn't LOOK big ...she just looked much older than she was, but she was SOOOO freaking cute!

Brig is a handsome dude!

Such a big boy!

So there's light at the end of the tunnel? Colin might not scream through doctor visits and haircuts for the rest of his life??? I'm glad it went well. :)

Oh, I can't believe it! He looks adorable before and after....maybe he'll grow up to be the surfer/hippie/intellectual type (my DH has very long hair - well, shorter now since he donated 16 inches last year (yes, 16 inches...)) and you'll get to see the look again!

Charlie is kind of a picky eater too - he doesn't eat fruit. Does Brig eat fruit? Our ped gave us a bit of a hard time about it this morning, so now I'm on a quest to find out if it is as abnormal as she thinks.......

He is adorable in both pics, but I do love his new cut!
Can I squeeze his yummy cheeks? :)

Tara,

There have been a few "no fruit/juice" threads in the Feediing forum over the past few months. Sarah doesn't eat much fruit either (and ate none until very recently), and our ped wasn't too concerned because she will eat some veggies, and said this is not uncommon at all. I have had some success with a few things lately, but don't want to hijack the thread.

Good luck!

Trish - OMG! He looks so handsome! I told you before that he was a gorgeous boy, with those blue eyes, but this haircut accentuates it! He looks like such a big boy! That after pic took my breath away! Hugs to Brig! Tell him Jacob said hi!

Trish, he looks so great--he's such a beautiful boy! (I know he's getting too old to say "beautiful" but I think it still is appropriate!)

FWIW, My own father saw me looking at this pic across the room and he said, "that's a fine looking little man!"

Wow!! What a huge change; he looks great! I'm still bummed I didn't get to meet him at the retreat (other than tip-toeing past him when he was asleep). :(

Wow, what a difference! Isn't is amazing what that first big boy haircut does to their appearance? I can't believe you made it to 2 years; Colin's had probably 8-10 haircuts already (and needs another one soon)!

Yes! There is a light at the end of the tunnel!! That's actually why I posted this- not so much to brag. Ds was sick a few weeks ago and dh took him to the ped by himself. (First time for that.) Well of course he hardly cried at all that time. I think dh thought I was making up the screaming episodes. Then this time it was the same thing. Dh was there with me, and Brig was fairly calm!

Brig doesn't eat fruit. He eats pizza, sweet potatoes and apple sauce, bagels/english muffins, french fries, yogurt and oatmeal. That's about it! The ped said he's fine. He's taking vitamins and gets protein from yogurt and milk, so she wasn't concerned.

Oh Trish, Brig is just gorgeous!!! GORGEOUS!!!

And I can feel your pain on the hair cut. In a hormonal not having my senses straight pregnancy moment I thought DH had Declan's hair cut and I just lost it. And I mean LOST it.

Glad the big boy is doing so well.
