Fast Question: What color is Dreft supposed to be?

I've never used it before but someone gave us an old bottle that they never used. It's a yellow-brown color, which seemed odd to me. Is that right?

It smells ok.

Mine is TOTALLY clear. Maybe wash a load of towels or something with it first and see. I HATE to waste things, but I am not sure I would wash my baby's clothes in that....

I just checked my Dreft for you and when poured into the cap, it appears a clearish yellow. The more you pour into the cap, the yellow-er it is.

The liq. in my new bottle is yellowish also.

Ours is yellow. You could say it's gold or even tan, but definitely not brown.

Thanks! I hate to waste things too, but I don't think I'll risk Josh's clothes with this stuff. I'll just use it for our cleaning towels to be safe.

I just did a load of baby clothes and realized that mine is yellow too - I am so sorry. Not ure why I was so convinced it was clear. But like a PP said, it is a clearish yeloow that gets darker yellow as you pour more in.
