View Full Version : We are cautiously celebrating!

I thought I could keep a secret for awhile. Turns out I can't. ;-) We are thrilled to be cautiously celebrating being pregnant with baby number 2!

Weird though...this was the month I said I didn't really want to get pregnant because the baby's birth would overshadow Jake's 2nd birthday and every birthday, which I really didn't want to do to him. Guess this is just my month to get pregnant, huh?

Anyway, despite my misgivings beforehand, we are now thrilled, if a bit scared to death! What were we thinking? I can barely handle the one I have! }( Jake's little brother or sister, if he or she sticks in there, would be due mid-May, about 2 wks or so before Jake's birthday.

Please keep your fingers crossed for us for a healthy pregnancy!

Yay, congratulations!! I love this month too--our babies are just abou the same age so I know what you mean--we're holding off until the end of this month to try for just that reason, but it's so hard when so many of the ladies here have such good news!

Andrea - such AWESOME news to hear.

I'm very cautiously excited for you as well.

I totally understand what you mean about overlapping birthdays. #2's due date is 4 days before Sarah's birthday. No matter what, her second birthday will have to be a low key event at home since I'll be either overdue or be home with a newborn.

Isn't it amazing how exciting and scary the prospect of #2 is?

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you all! :)

And I can remember occasionally being terrified when I was pregnant with Taran. After all, how could I possibly think I'd be able to take care of a baby? And what the heck was I thinking anyway? I can't imagine the fears that come with two, since I'm still dealing with just one. ::grin:: I'm sure you'll do wonderfully though!

I wish you a wonderful and healthy pregnancy!

::BIG hugs::

Andrea!

What wonderful news!

Don't beat yourself up about the birthday thing. Amelia will be here exactly a week before Sophie's 2nd birthday.

So, I guess we'll be in the same boat together!! Think of it this way - at least you don't also have Christmas and Hanukkah thrown into the same month :P.

Best wishes for a safe and effortless pregnancy!

Thanks to all of you for all your well wishes! With some luck we will be really celebrating! And thanks for reassuring me that having a baby 2 wks before Jake's birthday will not ruin his birthday for the rest of his life! :P

We are just so excited, and yet scared since it's so early in the game. We were so lucky that my previous pregnancy was so uneventful (had minor placenta previa, which resolved itself, and Jake had a dilated kidney, which also resolved itself). I never knew how tenuous pregnancy could be until I met so many women (and men) here. It makes me very grateful for what I have and very hopeful for this pregnancy. I will never take that for granted for one second again! But I feel safe letting you all in on it since I would likely come here for major support if I needed it, so I figured what better place to spill the beans. You all feel like family to me!

Well, since we were TTC, we only just tested this past weekend (well, week, since some of those tests are inconclusive with their freakin' faint lines! Sheesh!), so we are really early in the game. My LMP was 8-9-04, so we are just over 4 wks from that date. My last two cycles were 25 days and then 29 days, so I can only guess the due date would be around 5.15.05 or 5.19.05 or something like that.
Thanks again everyone! Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Yay - congratulations!! Ainsleigh's sibling will be born right around her birthday, but my sister was born a week before mine and it never mattered to me. Rather, it was the "birthday season" since my brother was born a week before my sister's birthday. Instead of your birthday on one day, it's like a week-long celebration before moving onto the next person since my parents just left streamers and balloons up in the kitchen.

Congratuations, and may your pregnancy be entirely uneventful!! How are you feeling?

Sarah - I'm feeling great! So far I'm a little tired, but nothing like you, Liza and Mary have all talked about! And last time around this time I remember having excruciating breast tenderness. A little maybe, but nothing major. So it really doesn't feel like I'm pregnant yet. DH knew though...as soon as I could smell cleanser in a mexican restaurant (just like last time!). We call it "dog nose". That was our 1st sign! Well...that and 3 positive (if faint) HPTs! I had to go buy another brand when the first two were so faint!

And May's a great month for a birthday. I doubt that the new one will ever overshadow Jake's party. Just get everything in place about a month before hand. Give you family some tasks and let them take care of it.
