Baby vicks vapor rub

My DD has severe congestion and the decongestant and ntibotics are not doing the trick. Has anyone used the Vicks vapor rub for babies? how did you use it? How old is your child? What about the Vapor Bath soaps? I just want DD to be as comfortable as possible.

Never asked my ped, but I rubbed some on DS's chest at around 5 1/2 months. We were at the end of our rope w / the congestion and it seemed to help a bit. used it at night for about a week. Can't say that it made a huge difference, but I think it helped somewhat.

Actually my mom did this first w/o asking me. I wouldn't have thought of it, but I saw that my DS didn't have any sort of bad reaction, so I continued to use it.

We used it on Jackson at 4 months. He has extremely sensitive skin but it didn't seem to bother him. We would also put some on a bib and put that on him so he was inhailing the vapors without it being on his skin. As far as the wash goes we never baithed him with it but we would put him in his little tub inside the big bath tub and run hot water into the big tub wtih the vapor wash in it. You still had the fumes and the steam. It worked great!
