It's a documentary about the children who were born to parents exposed to radiation after the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant explosion, mainly in Belarus and Northern Ukraine. I was practically in tears during the entire documentary - it's very moving. The medical care is so poor (in many ways - financially and skill-wise) that there is not much hope for these children who have such crippling physical and mental disabilities. Especially since the ones with the worst disabilities are typically abandoned at orphanages.

It made me want to go wake up and hug my very healthy 11 month old - I take her for granted sometimes!

I watched it. So sad. To hear that only 15% of babies in that one hospital are born seemingly healthy, and then to see all the teens with cancer. Just horrible! What blessings we have here, eh?

I could be wrong, but I think the filmmaker of this documentary is the aunt(?) of one of our community members.
