Hysterical crying while eating? Anyone dealt w/ this?

6 month old DD nurses well, drinks a bottle well and
eats hearty portions of rice cereal and baby food, seemingly quite hungry, but...

...screams while she eats, as if she's being tormented. She does this every meal.

Ped had no idea why, but no sores in throat or anything.

Since DD does eat heartily, what can be the reason?

Reflux? Abigail did some of this in her worst reflux moments, both eating and screaming. It might be worth asking for a referral to a GI specialist. Sounds like something is hurting, but she's hungry.

DS used to do this at times as well. We found that there was a very narrow window in which we could feed him...if he started to get too hungry he just got so upset he could hardly eat. He did grow out of it, although at times he still cries during meals, but I have discovered that he often just wants to feed himself vs being fed.
