For those of you who love Danskos, what style do you have & where did you buy them? I've almost bought a pair so many times but the fit is sooo different from 'normal' shoes that it's hard to pay that kind of price when I'm not totally sure that I'll love them. KWIM?
TIA!

My dearest friends are all nurses and most of them recommend the Pali (which look almost identical to the Pali). I was under the impression that the Pali was discontinued though and when my friend called Dansko they said you could still order them (I don't know if they make them special or not). Again they are so similiar. I live in mine :)
Funny they look trendy on others, when I wear them I look "comfortable" but my best friend sports hers with everything and she always looks like a free spirit, comfie and cool :)
I have Pali in black (kind of a tectured black) and the professional in a leather.

I think Danskos are the greatest. I have used "professionals" for work for many years since I am on my feet so much. But they do look quite clog-like so I don't wear them with regular clothes.
I bought the Dansko Kyras last year and love them. They look like this (although I have them in black):

They look like regular shoes and are so comfortable. I think they've discontinued them though since I no longer see that style on the Dansko website :(.
While I cannot for the life of me remember the exact website that I purchased them from, www.zappos.com does have a whole bunch of them in stock (including the Kyra) for reasonable prices.

Ok, I love my dansko shoes. I have the Loni sandle in the Golden Gate collection and the Professional with the oil leather. I bought one at The Walking Co. and the other at Track and Trail (I think that is what the store is called). I think the Professional was on sale but it only saved me a couple of bucks. I know they are expensive but I just bought the 2 pairs of shoes so that I can wear the sandal for the summer and spring and the clog for the fall and winter. I would really like to get some more especially since they have so many new styles, but they are expensive. I used to have pain on my shins when I would try to walk real fast. I have never had that wearing the dansko. Now, I have to admit that when I bought the clog it did feel real weird wearing it at first too, and i was nervous as this was the most expensive shoe I have ever bought. But I have gotten used to it. They actually told me at the store that you need to wear for at least a week for it to mold to your foot correctly before it will fit right. That was so true. HTH

I didn't necessarily love how these looked, but I'd heard that they were comfortable. I was able to wear them to school where I was on my feet quite a bit, though. That made my decision. Mine aren't shiny. They also didn't have the narrow at the place I purchased them, but if I were to buy them again, I'd get the narrow. They've lasted several years now and still look almost new.

I bought them at a local bit & bridle tack shop.

www.Sierratradingpost.com often has Dansko's for cheap. Just do a search on their homepage. I have a pair of red Lily sandals, and a pair of black mary janes with that kind of wingtip design on the toebox (don't know the name.)

Does the sizing run pretty true to size (once you convert sizes)? I remember trying on a pair a while ago at Nordstrom and I thought they ran big.

I've always bought my Danskos from the outlet website - www.danskooutlet.com - but my sister has gotten some great deals ($20) at Nordstrom's shoe outlet...that's rare, though.
The rundown of my Danskos:
Professionals in black leather and a grey-blue roughout leather - the black lasted for 3 years (I wore them daily) and the blue for 2 years, but they got soaked a couple of times and the leather suffered for it; professionals fit kind of loose, but that's normal.
Now I wear a black pair that look kind of like the Talia, but not exactly - they also fit loose, but not as loose as the Professional because you can set the buckle to where you like.
Sandals: I've had the Meta, Leslie, Lauren, and a pair that looked a lot like Flora, and they all were great - I prefered the ones like Flora and the Meta. Again, I wear them to death, and all have lasted at least two seasons. I found that the fit on the sandals was tighter than on the clogs because of the adjustibility, so I got a size down (39 rather than 40).
I'm very excited to order some of the newer styles of shoes - they look much less clog-like but the base appears to be the same...you can check those out at www.dansko.com.
I'm very, very cheap, and would never spend this kind of money on these shoes if I didn't love them so much - they are the most comfortable things I've ever put on my feet, and I know that if my feet hurt, I'm one miserable woman, so it's worth it to me.

I found that the clogs tend to fit big, but that's how they're supposed to fit. The other styles fit a little tighter, if that's what you prefer.

I do like my Danskos. I wear them indoors at home all the time--especially great when I was with child. I have an outdoor pair that I will break out soon.
My problem is that in Dansko I am a 38 1/2. So my indoor shoes are a "39" that ran small, or a "38" that ran large (one or the other) from sierratrading post (to answer your question). They are the professional model with a water resistant coating--perfect for the kitchen and all the water drips from washing dishes and cooking, etc. Now the indoor pair I bought at a walking type of store in the mall, they are like a low boot that covers the ankle, I think they are a 39, so I wear thor-los with them to keep my foot from slipping too much. I wish they made an intermediate size for me, but they don't.
