This past weekend, our family went apple picking at a local orchard. It was so much fun! A few photos...

Mary,

Although we seriously considered Curran's, it was just too far. We ended up at a teeny little orchard called Homestead Orchard in McHenry County. They didn't have anything fancy -- just apples and honey and some raspberries (which are fantastic!). The apple trees were dwarfs, which was perfect for Nate.

Nah -- my pie-making skills leave much to be desired. I'm making cornbread-apple stuffing and applesauce tomorrow, and we've already eaten a bunch of apples straight and had maple-syrup sauteed apples (from MSL and surprisingly simple!).

I don't think we'll make it to Curran's either. :( Looks like you picked a good one though. I can't believe how much older Nate looks from the last time I saw him!

It looks like it was a lot of fun! :)

And I really like the bottom picture, it's just really neat the way he's framed by the apples and branches. :)

What a handsome little apple-picker! Those apples look beautiful. Makes me want a nice, fresh apple. :)
