Our 10 month old DS has been so healthy, never sick--until last night. The poor guy vomited FOUR times! And of course once had to be while I was holding him, so it went all over me and I needed to take a shower. Yuck! But it somehow isn't that gross when it's your little one.

I'm relieved to report that all is well this morning though. He nursed and ate rice cereal and applesauce (the exciting BRAT diet) and is now napping. He hasn't vomited since 5 a.m. and is happy as a clam, so I think it was just a little bug.

Whew!

Congratulations! I agree with you that somehow it's not that gross when it's your little (loved) one. I've been lucky so far to not have a major sickness (other than some coughing and congestion) with DD so far, but I'm not looking forward to this cold season. For a variety of reasons, DD is not going to be getting a flu shot and neither are DH and I so I know we're sort of taking our chances. Especially because we are taking two airplane trips, one in Nov and one in Dec.

But I'm glad your DS is doing much better this morning! I think I'd be calling up the pede if she started throwing up in the middle of the night! Anyway, try to get some rest today now that your DS is doing better.

Lucky you! Mine vomited all over me 2 of the 5 times last night (once was my fault, since I fell asleep feeding her after the first round and she ate all she wanted, fell asleep, and did the volcano routine without even waking up). The other three times were onto towels I was holding, and this morning's was onto her daddy. She's thrown up before but never in the pitiful, bringing up yellow bile way she was last night. I'm not sure we'e survived yet; I have had hardly any sleep, she won't nap, she cries if not touching me, and we're nursing every 30 minutes.

I knew daycare would mean more illness, but she's been to daycare exactly 5 times and so far has had hand-foot-and-mouth plus this.

Yikes! I'm sorry about that. So far she hasn't picked up anything (that I know of) from the church daycare, but we haven't hit cold season yet either. Still, there are usually only about 5 babies there, and most of them don't interact with each other yet, so I guess that's why she hasn't picked anything up yet.

HOWEVER, she MIGHT have ringworm around her chin and neck. I'm not positive yet, but it certainly looks like the ringworm that was on my breast about a month ago! It doesn't appear to itch, though, or at least she's not scratching at it.

We may have survived. Just after I typed that, she was sitting in my lap going "GnaGnaGnaGnaGna" and eventually it got slower and slower and stopped... and I looked down, and she was asleep sitting up! I picked her up and put her in her bed (with a towel and a waterproof pad set up since we washed it last night) and she's been asleep a blissful 40 minutes now.

Just when I thought we were in the clear, the vomit fairy strikes again! This time it was during lunch when I was trying to feed him applesauce (a la the BRAT diet). I managed to get a little bit in his mouth and then he projectiled, mostly into his bib, thank goodness.

Seems to be okay, now, though, and is napping peacefully. I'll take his temp again when he wakes up. He also needs to get some fluids! I'm BFing all I can, but he still has had only one pee so far today. When I spoke to the ped this morning, she said he needs to have six. We may be taking him in tomorrow if this doesn't improve.
