i think i've located a flu shot... but can i take? dd is 5 months old. tia

eta - oops, sorry this is in the wrong forum... but i guess it will get more traffic and i need to find out asap

I asked my OB and DD's ped last year and they both told me that the CDC recommends a flut shot for nursing moms.

i was curious too! my ped said it was okay as long as it isn't the kind that goes up the nose (live vaccine) but they also said to check with my ob.

Yes, it is recommended to do so especially since dd is less than 6 months and can not get it herself. You are lucky you found one, we are very restricted in my county as to who can get it.

Yes! It's only pregnant women during certain trimesters who shouldn't get it.

Get it! You are in the high risk group as a caretaker of under 6 month old. My ob wants all her nursing moms to get it, especially if baby under 6 months since the babies can't get it.
