GIRL!!!!

The very first thing we saw was 3 little lines. I had been pulling for a boy, but when I saw those lines and the tech confirmed it, I started crying and got so excited!

Everything is right on target and measured correctly. I have fibroids and their location looks as they should not cause any problems (I had them with Lane too).

All in all a great report! I seriously do feel relieved. For the number of ultrasounds that are normal, I never wanted to take that for granted. So boy or girl, we are THRILLED!!!

Oh, Mary, that's great news! I actually sort of wanted a little boy, but when I saw the ultrasound and found out it was going to be a girl, I got so excited as well! I've been pretty good about not going crazy with girl clothes because most of DD's 0-9's were given to her as shower gifts. But the cute diapers...well, that's another story! :)

What wonderful news Mary! "Three little lines" - so that's how they tell it's a girl! I always just thought it was the lack of something. I am impressed that you can even make out anything on the u/s - I never could.

Definitely a whole new world of Hanna for you! Hope you are feeling great now that you are out of your first trimester.

BTW - I have a fibroid. I think they say it usually stops growing in the first trimester. It never did cause problems w/ my pg either. The only thing it did was cause me to get an u/s every month because my OB wanted to make sure that it wasn't getting bigger and that it wasn't interfering w/ the baby's growth.

Not a dumb question at all. I didn't know until I read it here a while a go. The 3 lines indicate the labia. So instead of a little penis, you see 3 lines.

I normally can't make much out on an ultrasound, but it was very clear that both legs were staring right at us and then I just looked in between.

Ahhh, OK, that did cross my mind, but I wasn't sure. And for some reason "3 little lines" was sounding like some sort of test result and I thought maybe there were more extensive tests that can tell you the sex.
