We are just going through the open enrollment guide for DW's work and across the board every insurance option from PPO to POS to HMO is increasing their co-pay for doctor's visits from $15 to $25. Of course this is in addition to the monthly costs going up as well.

So far, knock wood, we haven't heard anything. We have Aetna POS.

We pay $15 for regular visits and $25 for specialists.

Our co-pay is going up from $15 to $25. And on top of that the insurance stinks to boot and there is only one option - the bad one.

Since we pay out of pocket for our plan i went w/ a $30 co-pay to save a lot of $$ on the monthly premiums..definitely worth it.

We found out last week that IBM is revamping its health insurance...again. Our current plan (which we love, United Health POS! and I think costs them too much) is being scrapped. They are eliminating almost all HMO choices and what is left will be capped to only those that are currently enrolled in the plan (they say some of them will be but you know that the good ones will be capped). From the information given, it seems like they only want to give coverage to employees and if an employee only insures his/herself, then the company will actually pay for it and it will not require any payment from the employee. Argh. Will know more details later this week but we are not happy. :( Every year, it goes up and up and until this point felt like at least we were happy with the plan we had and the services that were offered (which were many). Not so sure how things are going to pan out. But I am thankful that at least we have the option. So many people don't. :(

Be glad that is the only thing going up. Our co-pays have not increased but we used to have 100% coverage. Now we only have 95% and we are responsible for the 5% and the copay. So when DS was born, it cost me about $750!! I know that is afraction of the total cost but still....

We're on different types of plans (no co-pays) but DH's has already announced an increase in deductible from $200 to $300 per person ($600 to $900 for a family) and they are decreasing benefits for out-of-network utilization. Also, we will have to start contributing to the premium this coming year, assuming that the firefighters' union and city management work through those negotiations in time.

My employer hasn't told us anything yet, but since they are one of the largest worldwide benefits consulting firm, I'm sure that we'll get hit with an increase like everyone else!

Ours haven't gone up, but the benefits have changed. For example, it used to be a $250 co-pay per hospital admit. Now it's $250/DAY, up to $1000. Super. My monthly cost went up about 5 months ago, so I'm hoping it stays steady for another few months at least. So far, copays are still $10 to our PCP or OB. Referrals and Specialists are more, as are urgent care visits. Much more.

Everything went up. Co-pay went from $15 to $25, our premium went up, and the amount they cover went down. Where is our national health care?!

Yep...ours went up last January. We never had a co-pay, and now it is $250 per person. So, both DH and DD needed major medical so I had two deductibles this year...great. Plus, doctor's visits went up from $10 to $20 per visit. I can't complain too much, because DH's company pays the premium, but this is getting to be an issue. I couldn't imagine having to pay the premium, plus these co-pays and deductibles...what's the point of insurance otherwise?!
