View Full Version : Parents of babies 6-24 months: What time does your child usually go to bed?

I chose 6-24 months of age since sleep patterns seem to become a little more predictable between these ages. Obviously there are many exceptions!

ETA: Sorry! I forgot to put 7-8 pm in the poll! There is no room (b/c of the constraints of the poll) for "no set time." Sorry again!

I chose 8-9, but it's actually anywhere between 7:30-8:30. DS is really consistent. It's closer to 7:30 if we had a busy day and he's tired, and it'll be closer to 8:30 if he had a late nap. He usually only takes one nap and it's in the morning.

I did not vote because Gabrielle goes to bed between 7-8, usually around 7:30.

This has been her *bedtime* since about 8 or 9 months (she is 13 months now)

Rebecca,

I just changed the poll so you can vote. Sorry, my mistake!

I chose between 5-6 although Kaya usually goes to bed at 5:00 +/- 15 minutes. On days when she only gets one nap that ends around 1:00 or earlier, she may go to bed by 4:30! But we usually aim for 5:00.

I chose 7-8. DS is usually asleep around 7:45, but we start the bedtime routine (bath, book, nursing) around 7 pm. Occasionally it's a little later if his last nap is later, but never after 8:15.

I chose 8-9, but I probably should have chosen 9-10. C goes to sleep anywhere between 8:30 and 9:30, depending on whether he did one or two naps during the day. But, he's been pretty consistently down to one nap, so we're generally running after 9:00 these days.

We're keeping our fingers crossed over here... The last 2 weeks Reilly has been going down around 8:15pm and sleeping until 8:30am! This is very exciting for us since she was always a "not so good sleeper!!"

I voted 8-9, but it varies from 7:30 to 8:30, depending on her mood and the length of her naps on a given day.

7pm. 7:30pm if his nap ran late (like, until 4pm or later). Colin's bedtime has been 6:30-7pm since he was about 9 months old, I believe.

My daughter is quite civilized, she usually goes to bed between 9-10, sometimes as early as 8:30. She gets up for the day between 9-10 as well. I'm not saying she sleeps through the night, that so isn't the case.

Between 9 and 10, usually around 9:30.

Once in a while between 8:30 and 9.

Sophie generally goes down anywhere between 8-9pm, although we usually shoot for 8pm.

It used to be earlier, but then Jonathan never got to see her, so we decided to push it forward a bit.

Knock wood, she will usually sleep till 8:30-9am the next morning. If she gets up earlier than that, I can sometimes lure her back for a nap with a bottle and a dry dipe.

Her afternoon nap is around 1-1/2 to 2 hours long.

DS goes down close to 7 because by that time I'm tired of dealing with the baby all day, and he gets really clingy in the evening so I can get NOTHING done (not that I get much done during the day, either). Of course, his bedtime was much more variable before he was a year old. At that point, I started a bedtime routine so he would go to sleep on his own (and it worked GREAT).

Gavin (10.5 months old) consistently goes down for the night at 7:45 and stays down until 6:30-7:15am the next morning. Funny, even when we put him down a little later, his little body clock still gets him up by 7am....

Between 7:30 to 8 when we're home & she takes 2 naps a day still. when we're out Friday nights she wont go to sleep sometimes at all until we get in the car to come home around 10:30 - 11:00 but those nights I try to get her to nap around 5 which normally I dont do.
