We recently found a babysitter for the occassional evening or weekend afternoon off. She is very sweet. When I mentioned to her that we were having a party (albeit belatedly) for DD she lit up and seemed very excited.

Should I invite her to the party? Its a small family & friends gathering and I'd hate her to feel obligated to get a gift but I wouldn't want her to feel left out either.

What do you think?

I would. It's beneficial if she gets closer to your family, IMO.

Since you told her about the party, I would casually invite her, but I would ask her not to bring a gift. I invited one of Audrey's babysitters to her party last year, but she didn't come, and this year I didn't invite any of them, since I get the feeling that although they enjoy babysitting for Audrey, they aren't necessarily jazzed about spending a few unpaid hours hanging out at a party for her.

HTH :)
