Will people do anything to get on TV? I mean most of these people are CEOs - what's risking your life worth?

So I'm hooked ;)

Raising my hand with a tad bit of shame. Yeah I watched it too. I was fascinated that most of the people were CEOs, but I guess that's what he needs as a president of his empire. I was impressed that he went out on all of the challenges with the contestants.

I watched too!!
Don't they have harnesses and stuff attached. I mean, they can't really DIE can they??? If it is really a life and death thing then OMG.. I can't believe they would do that. Also, I was wondering, if he is really giving up his CEO post, how come he only chose Americans to compete for it? He is British right? I thought there would at least be a couple of his own countrymen in there.

I was wondering why they had all those references to Donald Trump.. that was a bit cheesy.

Oh, I am totally rooting for the Spanx lady. I caught her on QVC the other day and she mentioned she was going to be on the Rebel Billionaire... go Spanx go!

and I jsut love Mr Virgin airlines (don't know his name) is he not the coolest of the cool of the cool????

but I despise the show...though I watched. I think they did a poor casting call...and I think they try to make it so dramatic, when it is dramatic but they seems to need to add the music the same interviews over and over etc...
I also am disturbed that the winner is taking his place as CEO at Virgin...to me none of those folks qualify-NONE...and I betcha the brits are pissed that he only has Americans there...I saw little diversity too for such a title I would have expected some more skin color in there, what is he saying?????

But I do love him...and I LOVED that he was the taxi driver...and it goes back to my mention of how folks act on Apprentice if you are there for a job interview be attetnive to that from every second.
I can't beleive how those folks acted in the cab!!!!!!

I KNOW!!! So arrogant!! You are in a foreign country, your taxi driver is an old man. Show some freaking respect you morons! I wish he had cut everyone who was disrespectful (did not help with the bags, talked trash, was rude). I cannot stand people like that.

I watched too. I mostly wanted to see what Branson was like because I remember hearing from time to time about all the crazy stuff he does. He's actually seems kind of nice, where Trump is so pompous. Both are kind of quick and shrewd in their assessment of people, which I guess is why they are successful billionaires. I loved his estate---Trump's living quarters look like his casinos, so tacky.

I'm not really impressed with any of the contestants. And I don't understand how doing these crazy stunts predict your ability to run a company. DH called it The Apprentice meets Fear Factor.

Richard Branson was on The Daily Show Tues night and gave a little insight into the "prize". Branson will still retain the CEO title and control the checkbook. He made it sound like he just wanted to take some time off, "holiday" as he put it, and needs someone to fill in until he decides he wants to return to the Presidency of Virgin full time. I give it a month tops.

As for only casting Americans, Virgin is trying to make stronger inroads into the US market, since the UK and Europe are pretty well tapped out. He wanted Americans since they have a better sense of the culture on this side of the pond.
