A group of women from my church are baking and making casseroles for a woman from Mexico who just had her 5th child. Her husband had to return to Mexico for family reasons and so she's all by herself.

I'm making a casserole and I'm not sure whether to prebake it and then refrigerate it and assume she will either reheat/freeze it, or just assemble it and she will have to cook it fully. Everything in the casserole is pre-cooked, so there's no raw meat safety thing. To reheat it or cook it would take about the same amount of time--20 minutes vs. 30.

What do you think? If I were cooking it for a neighbor I would just cook it and bring it over hot, but that's not an option here and I don't know how many she will get-- something close to six.

I'd prebake it and put a note on top to eat within the next 4-5 days.

I'd prebake it. IMO, casseroles always taste better the next day :)

I agree with PP - pre-bake it. Even those 10 extra minutes may make a difference if she's trying to take care of 4 kids and a newborn.
