I'm having a service come for a one time house cleaning and I was wondering if I should tip them....in the past we had an individual come every two weeks which I didn't tip.

Thanks!

I wouldn't unless you're really, really floored by the quality of their work. You're paying for their service, so it's not like it's tipping housekeeping at a hotel, KWIM?

We only tip at Christmas.

For one time, I don't think so. We use two women from a cleaning service, and I tip them only occasionally (like holidays and when I think they have done a particularly great job).

Nope. I would give a $$ bonus in December for regular help but with a 1 time job a tip is not called for.

Thanks for all the input; I wasn't planning on it and then I started to doubt myself....

I've given my maid extra money when I asked her to do extra work. We had granite countertops installed in our kitchen and the dust on everything and in everything was incredible. I would have felt guilty just giving her the regular payment. I too will likely tip her for the holidays.
