Dd stopped babbling when teething started....

and hasn't babbled since. (2 1/2 months ago.) It's been various kinds of screeches since then, no consonants, barely even vowels. Just groans and moans and screeches. (LOUD, all-through-the-night excited/agitated/excited/agitated screeching.)

But I digress...when will the babbling come back? I miss it. :)

IME babbling comes and goes. I especially noticed a lack of babbling when dd was working on big milestones like sitting, crawling, and walking. It was like she needed to focus on that one skill and then once she got it, the babbling returned. She never did babble to much in the early stages though. It is interesting to see their talking evolve. So far she's sounded like an old man with emphyzema (no idea how to spell that), and then for awhile she sounded like the people on Iron Chef. But now, I'm babbling...:)
Rest assured, the talking will return.
