I've already done mugs, teddy bears, and ties. I've seen things like trivets, clocks, and little boxes with tile covers, but I don't know how they'd turn out. Any other novel ideas for the grandparents?

Aprons or t-shirts? I've seen photo purses/bags in a magazine recently. Calendars are always useful.

Calendars! DS's grandparents love these. We create ours at Shutterfly and they are very nice.

We've also done magnets - very good. And, we ordered a puzzle at Snapfish (the largest size) for my dad who loves puzzles. He really liked it, but the quality was so-so. Some of the paper was peeling where the pieces were cut and when he glued it together, the color ran.

Mousepads are always good for the computer literate too.

Good luck!

ETA: If you have a larger budget, photo pendants are nice. There are really nice ones at Planet Jill. http://www.planetjill.com/ Also, a number of us got them around Mother's Day from It's a Mommy Thing. http://www.itsamommything.com/id36.htm It was nice. My mom really likes it, but I was slightly disappointed in the quality of one of the photos (which looked fine when I printed it at home, but looked grainy in the pendant).

The night lights here are beautiful:

We've also done a lightswitch plate - where it is actually part of the piece itself, not just a picture slipped into something.

I also love the work here:

Last year, I made books for all the grandparents on mypublisher.com. They were a HUGE hit. The program is a little cumbersome to learn at first, but once you get the hang of it, you can whip out the books pretty quickly. I did 3 different ones and used the same basic core pics of the boys, then changed some of the pics depending on which grandparent it was for to include pics of them in it. I used various quotes on each page, rather then my own words, and it turned out really well, if I do say so myself :)

It's not terribly expensive either, if you do a fairly short book. The quality was pretty nice too, though I think they've even improved it since I did mine last year.

If you celebrate Christmas, we did Christmas ornaments - they turned out REALLY nice, and everyone loved them.

Not bad for $15!!

Here's another option - photo coasters. What's nice about these is that I *think* you can change the pics as you get new ones.

Those are $29.

We've done those Exposures note cubes b/4 and they are really cute!

I also forgot that I've had the Shutterfly snapbooks made and they were a huge hit and very reasonable.

We did a B&W photo collage two years ago. It was very affordable at the time, but the frame was custom. Now you can get collage frames on every corner. I tried to find a pic of what we did, but guess I don't have one on this computer!

I was just looking through the Red Envelope catalog and there are several things you can do with photos there (although they would be putting a printed picture into something rather than having it produced within an item). There were key chains, tote bags and various other items. If you do order from Red Envelope, check the bargains forum for a free shipping code.

You can do a similar thing at lulu.com. I just published a calendar there, which I think turned out quite well. They also have very reasonable prices.
