was a big success!
We celebrated on the 20th and for the most part everything went smoothly. (give or take people being extremely early and my needing a few minutes to get ready, DH taking an hour to get the pizza and my getting told Im disorganized and unprepared. Gee, thanks and people wonder why I was snippy I was running all over trying to make everyone happy!) Anyhow...

Lil'bit was sleeping when everyone arrived and woke in a fairly good mood. MIL wouldnt let her off her lap from the time she woke up and I finally stole her away to play then she was happy. We had a carebear party with yummy yellow whipped cream cake with a rainbow on it and two care bears. My mom also made chocolate cupcakes with homemade frosting with pink flowers on top - her first chocolate yummy for her to dig into. She ate all of her cupcake - She just looked at it at first and poked her finger in the frosting testing it out, then my grandma held it up for her to lick, well it came up and never went back down. She ate all of it within a few crumbs, and then had some of the care bear cake to boot. She takes after me...loves those sweets! She was a trooper through out and even stayed up late with Noni eating more cake and playing with her toys. Here are some pictures....one of her playing under the table in her birthday dress, looking at her cake, eating it, and the aftermath. Enjoy!

OMG, soooo cute!!! I can't believe how grown up she looks. I LOVE her expression in the second picture. And that outfit is adorable! I'm glad everything went well for her party--oh, and if it were Kaya's party, I'd probably be running around like you did, trying to make everyone happy, lol! (Although DH and I have discussed it and we might invite the neighbors over for an early dinner to celebrate, but we're probably not having a first birthday party for Kaya. So I get to live vicariously through yours. :))

How fun! She's definitely a cutie.

I have to add....I can't believe she's a year old and smushing cake already. This year has gone by so fast!

Cute, cute, cute! She is so cute! My favorite is the one of her biting into the cupcake. She has such an intense look there. That's how I feel about my dessert too. Thanks for sharing.

Can I say that I have total highchair envy after viewing your pics? Great chair!

She is adorable. Great pictures! What is it with people (especially in-laws in our case) showing up early for functions!! I need every minute to get ready.

PRECIOUS! I LOVE the butterfly bib! I am seriously obsessed with butterflies. :) It is hard to believe it when they actually turn ONE. Time flies so fast and it isn't slowing down. Thanks for sharing and glad all went well.
