For those following in what is going on thought I'd share...

The supreme court is just finishing up listening to closing arguements to decide if there should be a revote between the "good guy" (orange guy) and the "bad guy" (Kremlin backed, corrupt guy "blue guy" -who stole the election with fraud). IT appears that all believe that they will issue a new election.

Putin (Russian President behind "the bad guy", and the current President of Ukraine -also behind the bad guy) are meeting in Russia right now I have no doubt scheming what to do if this happens. There is still discussion if a revote is announced would it be between these two men only????? The current president is hinting at putting a more charimatic "bad guy" in the pool hoping to get another corrupt, Kremlin based, non Westernized person in there.

Anyway new thoughts are that a revote could not happen before December 19th!!!!!!!!!!! That is huge news for us, giving us our appointment on the 10th, meeting children on the 12th, and atleast getting paperwork in order before any losing team could get mad and cause problems. Best case scenerio for us (selfishly) is a revote on the 26th (discussed) or even in Jan. If on the 26th there is chance court in region will be behind us granted we would probably be back in Kiev for the final days but we can stay out of the way I hope.

The good news is we will be out of Kiev in either case...
The bad news could be that many of the children come from these Eastern regions (near Russia) and thus where the "bad guys" folks can stir up trouble if a revote causes him to lose. Due to the Chernoble nuclear accident children from the northern regions are not adoptable or up for adoption...

Here is great recent article...shows the spirit of the battle for democracy that is really festive and sounds fun at this point!!!!!
The good guys support is AMAZING battling these cold temps for 12 days with such passion, energy and all...I am so proud of them!!!!

Wow, a lot of what's happening in the Ukraine reminds me of what's been happening in Taiwan for the last couple of years! I'm so glad that the good guys are rallying and seeming to make some progress! Good for them!

Hoping things continue to go well for you, Neve! I saw a heartbreaking documentary a few months back call Chernobyl Heart on HBO - it was about all of the children who have been born with birth defects stemming from the radiation leakage caused by Chernobyl and children who were already born when Chernobyl happened who now have all sorts of health problems like thyroid cancer. In one hospital in the contaminated region, a doctor they interviewed there said that only 15% of the babies born in that hospital were without birth defects. The documentary was very good but extremely upsetting and disturbing (do NOT watch while pregnant!). I am so glad for you that you will bringing home children from this country who so desperately need some tlc. My heart and prayers are with you, Neve!

I am glad that things are looking up and hope that the revote happens late enough so as to not interfere with your adoption process!
