So, I made my holiday card. Now, where do I print it? It is a square and it seems like places like Shutterfly will automatically crop your image in order to fill up the print size. Anyone know of a good place to print a 5" x 5" color card??

TIA

I can't help you, but had to post because I love your card. The pics are adorable, and I love the layout and colors you chose.

Wow, awesome card! No help as to where to print though. But I really like your card. Did you use Photoshop elements?

Thanks for the compliments.

I actually used Corel Draw to make my card. I have photoshop too, but just find Corel Draw easier to use. :)

You might check out Kinkos. I printed Sarah's birthday invites there and they were able to cut their normal folding card stock (8.5 x 5.5) to fit my needs.

Wow, Wow, Wow!! You did an awesome job. I second the Kinko's idea. They have many different card stocks to choose one so you can pick something slightly shiny to give it a photo appearance. Also you can use their paper cutter if you do not have your own at home.

I forgot to add- If you choose Kinko's then you might want to email or PM pixelprincess. She is awesome and can probably help you if you have any questions.

So I figured out how to not crop an image on Shutterfly. So, I could just get 5x7's and trim them or go to Kinkos....

Any other ideas out there from all everyone else who made their own cards???

I better get going or I'll have to change it to a new year card! :)

Actually, I had made a card that was 3.5x5:

Then I got some photo paper from Ritz that turned out to be 4x6.5. So I tried just printing it out on the paper and the picture just seemed to small proportionately. So after playing around with the picture, I changed it to this:

Okay, so I didn't do a very careful job because I was just playing around (plus I didn't have your original pictures), but what about something along the lines of rearranging your picture so you get something like this:

I just saw this.. I am not quite sure I understood the questiont though?? You want to print a smaller than 5x7 card but shutterfly is cropping it? Yes it will crop it.. but there is a CUSTOM CROP option which will allow you to fit your card into a 5x7 space.. but you will have to trim around it.
Even if you go to Kinkos, you will still have to trim the paper.
Sorry I am not more helpful.. email me if you like and I can try and help you out.

Hmm...now that I've read Rashmi's post, I'm not sure what you're trying to figure out about fitting it into a 5x7 space. Hope you get it figured out in time for X-mas. :)

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Here's what I did. I really wanted to keep the square shape of the card so I just used the custom crop feature on Shutterfly and am having 5x7 prints made which I will trim off the extra white space and slip in my square envelope. Hopefully they arrive quickly!! :)

Yay! Congratulations on finally making a decision. I know it was really tough for me to make final decisions especially because everytime I asked DH what he thought, he would say, "It doesn't matter." Geez, give me some sort of suggestion! :)

A little late, but just wanted to compliment you on your wonderful card!

Did you take the photos yourself?

Yes, I took the picture of my kids. I just use a large piece of black fabric (or white sometimes) and window light, no flash! If they cooperate the pictures usually turn out pretty nice this way! :)

And, yes my husband was totally no use in helping to figure out the Christmas cards.....
