Just spoke briefly to Jonathan... he was talking to M on the other line, so I will call back.
But it is NOT a blood clot.. it may just be pneumonia. I know 'just pneumonia' does not sound right but from what I gather, it is way better than a blood clot.
Will update when I talk to him some more.
I know our prayers and good thoughts are working. Come home soon Marisa! We love you!
ETA:
So here is another update. I just got of the phone with Jonathan.
She is still in the ICU that is just so that they can keep monitoring her till they figure out EXACTLY what is going on. They did a CAT scan last night that ruled out the PE. There is still fluid in her lungs making her breathing laboured so she is on oxygen. Hopefully, today they can narrow down exactly what is going on. The LC or whoever is probably going to come this morning to figure out the whole pumping thing so she doesn't get mastitis. Jonathan said that he does not think she can take incoming calls from non-family members in the ICU. He said that he put Sophie on the phone to talk to M but this just ended up upsetting her more than anything. He said he is also waving his magic wand and Soph's birthday is going to be on the 20th of December this year... so she does not know it is her birthday today.
Her mom is coming up there today. Sophie is not doing so well with all the new faces she is seeing so Jonathan says that M's mom will be a good thing at this time. The doula is going to be there till M comes home.
He said that M is overwhelmed with all the love and support she is getting from us.. she said to say a big THANKS.
Anyway, as far as I can tell, right now, with the mom and doula, they have home base covered. The hospital is walking distance or a $6 cab-ride away so Jonathan said he is fine getting back and forth to the hospital.
The only thing apart from the doula hours that would be useful right now would be hot food. he said he really has not eaten, he is not hungry...and that when the MIL comes they will go get groceries.
If we can figure out a way to get hot food there everyday, that will at least be one less worry.
So for now, James and I are staying put here. Jonathan said that Sophie is just getting confused with all the new people. Becs hopefully can see M tmmrw and give us a real-life update too.
