View Full Version : Hold onto your seats, for I am HOME!!!!!! :)

Yes, the rumours have been true. I am home (and God willing, staying that way for a looooooong time)!!!

I was sprung earlier this afternoon and am trying to sort my way through a plethora of mail and normal household subterfuge. I've not gotten around to reading anything just yet, but wanted to let everybody know just how floored I am (once again) at how much you all have rallied around me and my family during one of our most difficult times.

Sophie was waiting for me in the car downstairs at the hospital as Jonathan wheeled me out. I just about lost it right there with tears of joy. She just laughed and giggled saying "Mommy!!!!!".

My beautiful, beautiful Amelia slept for quite a while after I came home, but I was able to squeeze in some awake time and gave her a little sponge bath. For whatever strange reason, the doula felt it not necessary to wash Amelia's hair. EVER. I couldn't stand that stinky baby head smell, so that was my first task at home. Amelia loooooved having her hair washed, but was quite unhappy at being undressed. She topped this with four - yes *FOUR* - poopy dipes. Each one filled before the tabs were even opened. Gadzooks!

I received my KKAFP, but really hate the colour, so have already placed an exchange. Hopefully it will arrive soon. Thankfully, I have Alexis' on loan, so I might try that a little later, although I don't know how that will do with a c/s. I'm still pretty sore and am downing two percocets every three hours (and plan on doing so for a while ;) ). I am able to slowly go up and down the stairs if I have to, but for now am trying to stay on one level.

Jonathan was able to get me the additional larger horns for the PIS and according to the IBCLC that will be fine for now. If I find that it's not, I'll just end up having to rent a stronger one. I've use the PIS twice today and it seems like it might do the job for now, although it's definitely not as strong as the hospital grade ones.

By and large I am absolutely exhausted, but thrilled to be home. Hydra (a/k/a my Mother) is here and is pretty out of control. I honestly don't know how long I will be able to tolerate her, but by the same token, Jonathan is still pretty overwhelmed and needs help. The relationship with Jonathan's Father is pretty strained at this moment, so we're kind of getting it from both ends.

Thank you all again for all the prayers and good thoughts. There is no doubt whatsoever in my mind that those prayers are what pulled me through. For a while, it was seemingly touch and go and I was truly scared.

But that is behind me now. It's going to take me a while to get back up to speed, so bear with me.

I'm so glad to be home!

Love to all

-m

ETA - I've finally made it through a lot of the previous posts about all my updates. Anna, Rashmi. Alexis, Bec - thanks so much for keeping everybody updated. I will try and post a more coherent story about everything that happened tomorrow. I'm too tired now and just keep dozing off with my hand on the mouse for now. The doula has to head back to her home tomorrow morning and won't be back till Wednesday morning, so I don't know how much time I will have to be online, take care of myself, the girls and deal with Hydra all simulateously. Sounds like the most ideal plan of attack is to zone out on pain killers, but then that wouldn't be fair to Jonathan. If anybody's interested, we're in the market for a case or so of wooden stakes. :P

love

Marisa!!! Girlie, I am SO glad to hear that you are home! I was so worried about you! I am dying to call you to chat but I know things must be crazy for you right now. Please feel free to call me if you have some time to catch up - otherwise, I will try to call you before the week is out. Your girls must be so thrilled to have you back! Take care and be sure to kick your mother to the curb the second you find the strength to do so. }(

I am so happy that you are home!!! I hope everything gets back to normal soon, and I will hope against hope that Hydra will behave. I must confess though, I can't wait to hear your stories about her when she leaves, because while the things she does are not funny, your telling of the stories is always a great read!!! :)

Rest up and don't worry about anything except you and your family. Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice!

I'm so glad you're finally back home with your babies and Jonathan. Hurray for Jonathan for doing such an awesome job taking care of you all and dealing with Hydra. I'm glad the pumping seems to be going well and that Sophie and Amelia have their mommy back. :) I remember Kaya hating to be undressed and sponged bathed in the early days (too cold!). Once we immersed her in the warm water, she enjoyed that much more!

I know things are overwhelming in the beginning which of course is not helped by trying to recover from a c/s. I know it's not easy, but try to ignore your mom and focus on your beautiful family!

Anyway, I'm so glad you're back!

lots of love!
