She is wearing undies (mine) from the laudry pile around her neck. If I take them off, she cries her head off. We are doomed to stay at home for the rest of our lives.

ETA: Never thought I would share pics of my undies.. but here ya go.. sorry it is blurry, it is from the video camera. I can't say they are fancy but at least they are not ugly white grandma ones.. heehee.

Allison, i think they are from the clean pile. Who knows, she mixes everything up so we are constantly washing clean clothes over and over.

Leela cracks me up. And let's hope that it comes from the clean laundry pile :)

Are they your fancy ones? If so, I think that is perfectly appropriate going out attire!

Hmmm. I don't think I can offer any advice or even the appropriate level of sympathy without first seeing a picture. ;) Hee hee!

Don't know if it helps, but I'll let you know that I spent several frustrating hours one night recently trying to convince Katherine that one of my old white nursing bras WAS NOT the latest Hanna Andersson pilot cap and she needed to take it off NOW as I was having friends over to sew.

LOL! Ela does the same thing with my undies! She also carriers them around with her and won't let me take them away. Maybe we should buy them undies for Christmas. :)

LOL! This was just the laugh I needed today. I say you throw a coat on Leela and pretend they're an expensive european scarf. Tee-hee-hee

So it it appropriate for me to tell the people in my office that I'm laughing becuase I'm looking at your undies? I think not. But thanks for the laugh. She's a hoot!

Rashmi -

I'm also laughing out loud at WORK no less! Leela is just ahead of her time in the fashion arena. Soon all the toddlers will be wearing undies around their necks in public - move over Prada, Luis, Burberry...

It looks like a scarf! LOL

At least you have pretty undies. I can picture her wearing my HUGE beige contraptions, that I am currently phasing out BTW :)

I think that color is lovely on Leela!

But, more importantly, you got a digital camera!!!!! Instant gratification! Isn't it wonderful?

Not a dig cam. this is a frame from the video camera.. why did i never think of doing this before??

Rashmi that is too funny. My daughter does the same thing. Oh, and your laundry situation sounds like ours too. I feel your pain.

I think she looks terrific! I had to take Roley to our friends' house wearing my underpants (and they were not as pretty) and no shirt since they were watching her while we went out and we were running late. Leela can be a trend setter, all the toddlers will want a pretty "scarf!"

Rashmi--

How cute is Leela that she can make undies worn around her neck seem like a fashion statement? I just love her expression in that photo: "Back off mom, I like the undies right where they are." LOL

Rashmi, I really needed a laugh today--Kaya decided to truncate her long midday nap and my stomach is all sore from chasing after her! So is that going to be your new avatar, lol?

Ally does the exact same thing (often several pairs at a time!) She is very fond of using anything available to her as a scarf- undies, PJ pants, her own clothes. Last week she picked up a pair of DH's underwear and said "dada!" I still have no clue how she knew that!

Here's the proof- I took these last week. Won't these be fun to scare off her future dates with? ;)

LOL! How cute is Miss Ally, especially in that last picture!! That is so strange that so many of our babies do the exact same thing!!
Also, you have some cute looking undies there.. teehee.

muhahahaha... i am just dying of laughter thinking that people now know what my undies look like! this is so embarassing. thank goodness they were mine and not james'.. he would have got really mad if i had put pics of his undies up on the internet!!! though i mean, really, men's undies all look pretty much the same to me.

Nice undies!!! That is such an adorable picture. She is so beautiful! Love the hannah outfit!

how funny Rashmi. We have similar pictures from the few days that Sage grew attached to DH's boxers. They were a permanent fixture around his neck. Alas, that phase did pass.

But I've got to add, DH's boxers aren't nearly as impressive as those panties you've got going. You go girly!!!!

Very stylish!!

And Sarah went through a phase where she wanted to wear my undies around her neck too. I think there's just something about undies.

And she also wanted to describe for everyone what undies *I* was waring that day. Fortunately that was when she still had language delay and articulation issues. So the cashier at the grocery store did not understand that she was saying "Mommy has on flower underwear today!"

Ha ha! Maybe you'll see this on all the runways this spring :) What a little trendsetter!

LOL! I can just imagine the embarassed look on the teenage cashier boy at the grocery store...muhahahahahah.

Seriously, we should compile all these into an elegant coffee table book called 'What they didn't tell you about raising your baby". We can have undie-garlands, downward facing dog poses, babies vacuuming and sweeping etc etc etc. It would be a HOOT.

I have those undies too! But I think they look better on Leela. Of course, I never tried wearing them quite that way.

That is so cute! And funny! I'm not sure I would show my granny panties in a pic online. Lucky for you they look a bit fancier than my usual under-attire! Thanks for the laugh! Put that one in the baby book!

That Leela is quite the fashionable one, isn't she?
Heck, at least she has good taste. She knew to pick out a pretty pair!

Rashmi, I know it's not funny that you can't get out of the house, but I can't stop laughing. That picture is just too funny. ;) On the bright side, she's bound to take them off minimally by the time she's a pre-teen, if not long before that. ;) So you'll get out of the house eventually! Maybe just not today... ::grin::

How adorable is little Miss Leela!! She is very serious about her undie wearing. She's looking at the camera like "yeah, so I'm wearing undies around my neck. So what?"!!! Very very cute :)

Thankfully my DD is growing out of this phase, but she still tries it on occasion when she's helping me fold laundry. Her new favorite is trying to "wear" my bras when she gets hold of one...

I won't even tell you what Nate does with our underwear...that's a cute pic. And cutie undies too -- Victoria's Secret cotton prints?

That's cute Rashmi! Nice undies too! I am afraid that Lauren would not be able to find a nice pair of undies...they are all in the very back of my undie drawer- never worn!

Awww Rashmi she is too cute! :)

You gotta get her some beads.... Mason used to love to put on a bunch of bead stands when he went to his grandmas house.... you know the bright colored Mardi gras ones! I am sure my mom has pics somewhere of Mason looking like Mr T all loaded up with his mardi gras beads!!!!!

Good luck getting the panties away from her!
