OT-- Need a florist recommendation in New Jersey

Hi. Does anyone know a good florist in the Westfield, New Jersey area? I need to send a nice arrangement to a 50th birthday party on Saturday. I'm phoning the order in, so I need a place that I can trust to put something beautiful together. I don't like using FTD or 1-800 places so I usually try to pick a local place that people have had good experiences with. Any suggestions?

I've gotten beautiful arrangements from Metropolitan Flower Exchange - 201-944-1050. I like less-traditional arrangements, and they always have what I'm looking for.

They're sick overpriced. You get next to nothing for your flowers. I used to work for their competitor and have bought stuff there myself.

I know a great florist in Allendale NJ but the name is at home. How far is Westfield from Bergen County?

Westfield is closer to the Newark area. (Not too far from Marisa, actually).

DH grew up there and has family still living there and in the immediate area. I'll ask him if he knows any Florists located in the town tonight, if not, I'll give MIL a call.

What town are you from? I spent a few months in Mountainside at Children's Specialized Hospital on an internship and loved Westfield. I was so excited when the show "Ed" featured main street during the opening song.

Westfield is near Union, Springfield, Mountainside. Think Route 22 and you'll get the idea.

Marisa, Jamie, Alexis, Esther -- thank you! I went with Marisa's recommendation and just ordered a mauve tightly packed contemporary arrangement for our Aunt's 50th birthday party this weekend. I told the woman that the shop came highly recommended and I was told they do stunning work. So, of course, she asks who recommended them. I hemmed and hawed and said, well, I'm on a message board and she said message board? in this perplexed way. Pretty funny! Next time I'm just saying my girlfriends!

LOL! DH started watching that show because of the opening credits. He loved seeing Westfield.
