My DH needs to wake up at 5:40 to make it to a 6:30 train. Our upstairs is quite small and the one full bathroom is right next to all 3 of the bedrooms. Consequently, my DS wakes up every weekday morning at 5:45 and takes a morning + afternoon nap. On the weekends, he wakes up at 7:30 and takes one long midday nap. He always seems sleepy during the week + seems much happier and well-rested on the weekends. I'm not quite sure what to do at this point. I think my DH is as quiet as he can be + we use a white noise machine in our DS's room but somehow he always wakes up. What do others do?

We use a white noise machine AND a large box fan in my ds's closet. It seems to help. We also roll up a towel and place it at the base of my ds's door at night so that no light gets into his room when my dh turns on the lights in the morning. I feel your pain - good luck.
