My sister is having her thyroid removed today and will have quite the scar when she's finished. I'd like to order her a fun/funky scarf (not too wintery or fancy) so she can cover her scar when she wants to. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I hope she's better in short order

I was at the Gap yesterday and I saw some really pretty silk scarves on sale for less than $15 (some even $9.99). One was deep pink w/ burgundy accents of "stitching." Another had multicolored stripes of muted pastels. They're kind of funky, but I could totally see them working with a nice navy suit or cream turtleneck. HTH.

The only one I found online was this one, but your local store might have more:

Someone here on the board makes beautiful crochet ones, maybe knit too. She has a website listed on the BBB business site. I wish I could remember her name. Maybe she'll post a response. Anyway, I've been meaning to order one b/c they're gorgeous, and we only have about 3 mos of cold weather here in AZ, so I better get to it! :)

I think I'll go with one from the MoMA site - their scarves definitely fit the "funky" category. Thanks for your input! If my sister gets into the scarf thing I'll likely utilize the talents of many of you on this board - thanks.
