Would any of you be willing to post pictures of what these sets look like after a few years? I can see how the wood weathers from the catalog, but I'd like to see a whole set that has been exposed to the elements for several years. We are looking at back yard playsets, and my head is spinning. Thanks!

We have a set that is close to 2 years old (it will be 2 in August). Right now, I'm inside tryiing to get my kids to nap, but if it's not raining later, I will try to take some pictures.

We really love our set. Excellent, splinter-free wood--really solid construction. The toddler steps are great for small ones. We (rather unexpectedly) moved across the country, and it moved with us without a hitch.

Though the cedar isn't as pretty in its weathered state, it still looks quite nice.

Thanks, both of you! I would love to see pictures when you get the chance. I'd also be interested in hearing the specifics of the structures you chose.

My set is 6 years old and we chose to use a colored stain on it, so it doesn't look weathered, but painted. It still looks fabulous tho! We just moved too and our movers said they'd never taken a playset on an out of state move before. LOL

Yes, I did take mine with me. We debated over what to do, but the thing was costly and it would have cost us much more to replace it than to move it. Our movers had moved lots of play sets out of state before. The large structure actually "tail gated" on the back of the truck, lol. The movers pulled out a large platform from the back of the truck and literally roped it on. It was hilarious! DH and I joked with the movers that they were going to find kids climbing all over it when they stopped at rest stops.

Ours is a "jungle-box tower". We have the "sure step" platforms going up the jungle structure, and the slide coming down, and lot of fort fencing for safety. We have a 3 swing ladder with a baby swing, a regular "big boy" sling swing, and the 2-person horse swing. Off the box tower, we have the Rolicking Roundabout and a trapeze with rings.

We're thinking about adding a fireman's pole since there isn't really a good way to get down from the box tower (Jack can just barely climb up but not down). Of course, he's not quite ready for a firemman's pole yet, so maybe we'll wait. The other thing we're thinking about adding is a climbing wall (probably when Joshua's a little older and we can safely remove some of the fort fencing.

We're having playground mulch and a wood border put in soon for safety and to help with a water problem we're having in the yard.

It's sunny today, so I should be able to take some pictures once Joshua is sleeping.

Good idea re: painting. I'd love to see what that looks like. We're so not the handy people (or the maintenance people). That's one of the reasons we picked Cedarworks. We didn't want to have to maintain/refinish a set.

We put this in last September, so it has not entirely weathered yet. The rock wall, which has the most sun exposure, has weathered the most. We wanted the weathered look so it would blend better with the wooded area of our backyard and because we are lazy about getting things stained, lol.

We love this set. Nick, 3.5 yo, plays on it for hours, and Alex, since about 11 mos, has been able to climb up to the slide by himself because of the platforms. The platforms are a huge selling point for us, not only does Nick love to pretend he is in his own "fort," but Alex can play on them as well. We have several friends who have Rainbow sets the little children can't play on without lots of parental help (ie the slide can only be accessed with a rockwall or rope ladder).

We have pea gravel around the set which is wonderful since Nick uses it as a sandbox as well. We have trouble with water pooling in that part of the yard, so we wanted something that would drain well.

Okay. Here's our set. Somehow, the pictures are overexposed, so it doesn't look quite as nice as IRL. But it should give you an idea.

Okay. Here's our set. Somehow, the pictures are overexposed, so it doesn't look quite as nice as IRL. But it should give you an idea.

In the info. Cedarworks sent me, they had a separate brochure for something called the PlayARound line. It features rounded wood, and seems to be less expensive. Does anyone know anything about this particular type of structure? I'll call Cedarworks and ask them directly, but I wanted to check here, too. Thanks!
