My husband is going on a business trip to Tampa this month, and we're going to take off the whole week and make a little vacation out of it.

Any recommendations on where to stay? We'll be driving down from Atlanta, so we'll have a car. I'd really like to stay somewhere with a nice pool and hopefully beach. He only has to go to the conference one day, so staying a distance from the conference won't matter.

Thanks!

We just came back from that area and stayed at St. Pete Beach at the Tradewinds. It was a typical big resort (several pools, restaurants, etc) but we had a blast. DS absolutely LOVED the place- there were pedal boats and a little course that snaked through the grounds, they had scheduled activities for kids, there was a HUGE slide on the beach, lots of resident 'wildlife' (fish ponds, swans, birds, lizards)... we all had a good time. I think the website is www.justletgo.com . It was about 25 minutes from Tampa. I have family that lives in the area and we're already talking about going back next year. It was perfect for a family destination. If I was going to the area and didn't have children I'd stay at the Don Cesar, just down the street.

Mariana,
DH is also saying that the Don Cesar is really nice but pricey on the beach. He likes the Tradewinds too. He said to avoid the Hilton or the Ramada on St. Pete Beach, they're old.

He also said that Clearwater Beach might be a bit newer in general, if that's important. Just avoid anything on US 19.

Mariana,
DH is also saying that the Don Cesar is really nice but pricey on the beach. He likes the Tradewinds too. He said to avoid the Hilton or the Ramada on St. Pete Beach, they're old.

He also said that Clearwater Beach might be a bit newer in general, if that's important. Just avoid anything on US 19.
