The Summer 2005 PBK catalog has bead-like hangings on page 23 (see picture below). I called them, but they could not tell me if (a) they sold them or (b) what they're even called. I'm looking to make a miniature hanging from the shower light in the kids' bath to keep dd looking up when it's time to wash her hair (yes, I'm that desperate). She's napping now and I'm trying to find these to make this contraption (adding onto a Haba mobile, actually) this weekend. Please tell me what these are called. I marked them with a red arrow just to be certain you're looking at the same thing I'm referring to - TIA!

I didn't read the other post (from bedding and/or crafts) but i'm thinking if you have either AC Moore, Joanne's or Michaels nearly you might be able to make your own bead strings w/ their supplies.

Just my 2¢.

I didn't read the other post (from bedding and/or crafts) but i'm thinking if you have either AC Moore, Joanne's or Michaels nearly you might be able to make your own bead strings w/ their supplies.

Just my 2¢.

Looking at the picture, they don't look like beads, they look like flat discs made of some type of translucent plastic. I would agree with the PP about trying a craft store.

I'm going to guess capiz shells though most of the capiz that you can order online are the plainer off white color. You could probably get a similar/less expensive/child friendly look by laminating some pretty colored tissue paper and then cutting it in small circles! HTH!
