Introducing baby Yuval Amit!

My baby finally came on May 26 at 2:53 AM. Admission time to the hospital: 2:39 AM. The car ride to the hospital - the longest torture of my life... We got to the hospital, I took my clothes off, climbed on the bed and started screaming. The nurses screamed back at me: no pushing, no pushing (they wanted to wait for the doctor). Like there is something I can do about it...

Anyhow, 8lbs 12 oz later, baby Yuval came out all pink and pretty. Then he turned yellow, spend a week in the NICU, but now we're home and doing well. Big sister Maya, is taking it relatively well. She wants to change his diaper, feed him, hold him and poke his eyes. She did announce once "all-done baby" but no major break downs yet.

Congratulations, Marit! Wow, and I thought *I* had a quick delivery (1 hr 15 minutes after my water broke)! I think you win the award for this one, though. :O) Welcome, Baby Yuval! Can't wait to see the pictures. Glad everyone is healthy and happy!

Labor started around 11 PM I think. I did have some contractions earlier that evening, but nothing new as I was having them for a month. I tried to get some sleep from 11:30 PM to 1:30 AM and woke up at 1:30 with intense contractions. The funny thing is I saw my OB that morning and I was 0 centimeters and baby way up...

I'd say quick and very painfull... I did say the word Epidural at the certain point, and the nurses were rolling on the floor laghing!

Congratulations! Wow, what a birth story. You are very brave. Was the laboring at home part hard, or did it just go faster than you expected?

On a completely separate note, I have a good friend whose husband is named Yuval and second baby named Maya. Your choice of names made me smile. : )

Congratulations! Sounds like that was a very exciting night! Wow- less than 30 minutes in the hospital :o

Laboring at home was hard, but would have been much harder at the hospital. I think things go faster when you're relaxed and feel safe. The reason I "streched" staying at home a little too much is because I was completely closed that same morning and I didn't realize how far along I was. I was worried about getting to the hospital and being told I was only 3-4 centimeters. Of course, by the time I got into the car I contemplated calling 911 instead since I started feeling like pushing...
