View Full Version : Another fluorosis question - how much fluoride is too much?

I didn't want to hijack any of the other recent threads about fluorosis.

Does anyone know if it is possible for a child to get too much fluoride just from drinking water? And, is fluoride removed from water when it goes through one of those Brita pitchers? We use regualr tap water in a pitcher. Susanna drinks a ton of water. Well, it seems like a ton of water for an almost 1 year old. She loves it. I wonder if we should let her drink as much tap water as we do?

Thanks

This is exactly what I'm worried about. But there is fluoride in fruits, vegetables and meats as well; anything that needs water also absorbs fluoride.

Brita filters do not remove fluoride, I don't think, since it's a mineral. But maybe the Brita site will have more info - I'm off to check that out, right after I ask a follow-up question on my own fluorsis thread! LOL.
