If your DC has an easel for art projects, where do you keep it when your DC is working on it? By this, I'm wondering if you use it on a wood or tile floor, outdoors only or even on carpet? I'm debating whether to buy splatmat for underneath ours. It is currently in the playroom which is completely carpeted. It's not very practical for me to move it to another area very often, so I just wondered what others do to keep the mess to a minimum?

Thanks,

We use ours strictly in the kitchen, on the vinyl floor, but would consider using it outside if DS wanted it out there.

I have a big roll of plastic drop cloth leftover from painting rooms and I roll out a big sheet, plop the easel on top, let him paint, and then roll up the whole thing afterwards. Now, it's horrible environvementally speaking, so I think when the roll is gone (at the rate we're going, maybe when DS is 20, I'll probably get a vinyl tablecloth I can wash, but I like being able to use the easel wherever I am.
