I have not read all of this hubub on the Boards about the diapering site, etc. And I can't go looking at the site at work if it has a hint of porn but can someone just tell me this - is anyone's DC here on BBB on that site?

I'm not asking bc I want to know who. I just wanted some clarification on if this is just a potential thing or someone here on the Boards has seen their child on it. And is it only on diapers bc I don't know that I've posted diaper pictures.

I'd appreciate it if someone could just briefly clarify so I can determine if i need to go look at this stuff tonight after I get home from work.

I have the same problem as you(at work, may look tonight if I feel brave)

from the mamas who have read the MDC boards AND browsed the site(problem b/c you need a log-in, etc), is that 1. it is NOT just cloth-diapered children, but disposable diapered as well as some fully-clothed children, and 2. So far I am told NO BB babies have been identified...Someone pls correct me if not...

It seems to me that whoever put the pictures up was lurking on the MDC boards and got most of the pictures from links in signatures or on WAHM sites. So if you have a link to pictures at MDC or your child is on a MDC you might want to remove your signature and delete pictures.

oh fudge, that is probably the one place I actually did post cloth diaper photos of Ds...I really don't want to go look, though.

this is interesting.
I know now you can't even lurk on MDC without logging in.

I have an account I very rarely use, forgot my log-in info and wnated to go see the threads about this over there, but I could not.

I'm so sorry to hear if any of your (general community) kids are up there. It seems it is more likely if your kid was in a wahm gallery or posted at MDC that they would be found. Also if you have a webshots gallery delete it, it was posted at that vile site that they use webshots to find pics easy, you can search through the public stuff.

It's reasons like this that I don't share my kids' pics very often, it's so sad that we have to be so careful because of very sick and twisted people. I looked on the site a little bit just to make sure one of the very few pics I posted wasn't there and I didn't see any kids I recognize from here and I don't think my girlie is up there but I got so sick I had to stop looking.

After reading the post in Butts and getting sick to my stomach (I sent DH to the vile site to search for any pix of DS), I went to password protect the albums on dotphoto.com I use for sharing pix with family and friends and discovered a cool feature that I didn't even know was turned on in my account.

Guests who look at the photos in my albums can't "Right Click, Save As" on any photos. Of course this doesn't address any photos on independent websites but it eased my mind since anyone who may stumble on my albums can't download the photos to their computer.

I'm not sure if the other photo sharing sites have this feature but it's worthwhile to check if you use Snapfish, Shutterfly, etc.

This helps but honestly there are ways around this so the best bet is password protected albums and always use a watermark for any public pictures.

Agreed. I think I may have every security feature I could find turned on now. LOL

Just to clarify, I posted this issue in Butts here because MANY mamas on MDC and other diapering sites have found their children on the board. It was a PSA; I had no way to go through and make sure BBB kids weren't there. It was not intended to be alarmist, just informative.

Sorry for elevating the security level around here, but I personally felt it was important for the other diapering mamas to know about this.

And, yes, it is true that there are some fully-clothed children as well, but the diaper shots are by far the most interesting to the site's members.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your photos are not protected just because you can't right click to save. All the person needs is a screen shot program and you can save a picture of anything that can show up on a computer screen. Just didn't want you to have a false sense of security.

what's a webshots gallery and what's MDC?

I realize that but at that point, if the creep really wants the photos, they'll find a way. I'm just making it more difficult for them by PW protecting my albums and setting all the high security settings.

Oh Holli, no apologies neccessary. You "PSA" is greatly appreciated. When I posted originally, I just didn't have the capacity to read all of this stuff and wasn't sure if I needed to take any immediate steps that would get me fired at work for visiting a "porn" site as another poster in another topic called it.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I'm not too familiar with webshots, but MDC is www.mothering.com.
