I'm trying to figure out how to get started easily. For now I'm trying to finish off what we have of the hard stuff and then will use Method products until I can figure out what to do. But I'm not sure what to do w/ the toilet bowl. I'm using Borax and white vinegar for that currently.

I love Karen Logan's book, but I have no experience with the others to make a comparison. I like that her book and recipes are really easy to follow and that she also puts an effective rating on the recipe. If you want, I can look up her recipe on cleaning the toilet bowl. It includes baking soda, but I don't remember the exact recipe.

I borrowed both of the top two books you listed from the library and used ideas from both.
For the most part I use vinegar, baking soda and Dr. Brommers (sp?)

Okay, here's the instructions for cleaning your toilet:

Ingredients: Liquid soap or detergent (I use Dr. Bronner's), Baking Soda, white vinegar, tea tree oil, and water. You'll also want a squirt bottle (as opposed to a spray bottle--an old liquid detergent bottle or scrubbing bubbles squirt bottle will work).

Mix 1/2 cup of liquid soap and 2 cups baking soda in a bowl. Work out any lumps with a fork. Dilute with 1/4 cup water and add 2 tbsp. vinegar to make it foam. Add 1/2 tsp of TTO. Use a metal measuring spoon not a plastic one. Mix and pour the final solution into a 22-oz squirt bottle. Shake the bottle well before using the cleaner.

To use, turn the water off at the handle, and flush the toilet bowl to empty it. Squirt the cleaner inside the toilet, on and under the rim, and on the seats. Use a toilet brush for the inside and a songe for the rim and seats. Rinse with scented vinegar if you like (I just add TTO to my vinegar).

This one's not as effective, but it's easy and you can do it overnight. You can basically add borax or scented borax if you wish (add TTO oil to your borax). Add about 1/2 cup borax (w/20-30 drops TTO if you wish) into the toilet bowl. Hold the toilet brush over the bowl and sprinkle on some extra borax and give the inside edges a goodswish. Close the lid and leave the toilet overnight. In the morning swish the bowl with our toilet brush and you're done. This basically works like the 2000 flushes thing, but the above recipe is more effective.

HTH!
