We're looking for a ponit and shoot film camera for my mom and saw some amazing deals on Overstck.com for refurbished cameras. Is it safe to buy refurbished???

Thanks,

If it comes with a warranty, and it's factory refurbished, then I would probably go for it. I've had good experiences with factory refurbished computers and laptops.

I've bought a refurbished baby monitor off eBay that I've been VERY happy with. It was half the price so I took the chance. That said Overstock.com does not have the best return policy to put it mildly so I'd be reluctant to buy a gift from them in case your mom wants to return/exchange her camera.

I bought a refurbished computer and a refurbished digital camera both from Overstock, and I am happy with both. I made sure they were factory refurbs, which means they're pretty much in new condition.

I have never had to return anything to Overstock, so I don't know how their policy works, but I have bought maybe 5 orders from there and all of them have had no problems.

Just make sure you compare Overstock to your local stores. Sometimes it looks like a good deal, but then you walk into BJs and they have the same item new for just a couple dollars more.

Thanks! I bought 2 cameras there, both "factory reconditioned", one digital and one film (one for my MIL one for my mom). I hope they work out well..
