I bought a new digital camera a month ago and I'd like to get rid of my old one. It works fine but it's a 5 year old sony - not worth selling; I'd rather just donate it. Is there any place that specializes in electronics or should I just take it to goodwill?

I bet a local day care would love it. My child goes to a child development center run by the local community college, and I know the teachers would love a donation like that (I am not soliciting it, just using them as an example of teachers who would love a donation like that)

You could try a school, a library or a church.

I would totally donate it to a school. My son is in middle school and they wanted to offer an afterschool photography program, but they didn't have enough cameras to do it. I'm sure a school in your area would be thrilled with the camera!

I was thinking a school as well!

ITA give it to a school, church or daycare. You get a tax write-off and they get the camera. I know my university run daycare would be happy to give you a tax letter.
