"24 Iraqi children die in suicide blast".

I am so sad over this... they were just kids, curious about a Humvee. I can't even imagine the pain their parents are in. :(

It is very difficult to think of the kind of world our children will grow up in.

I saw this on NBC News the other night. They showed a pile of kids sandals in the rubble and I couldn't stop crying.

I know, it is horrible. There is a special place in hell for people who do things like that.

It's absolutely horrible.

Not to get into a debate, but there is nothing good about this war and I can't believe that Bush is getting away with having invaded Iraq under false pretenses. My husband and I were just saying last night that it's amazing he hasn't been impeached. (Well, not so amazing given the makeup of the Congress.) I'm sorry, but the whole thing sickens me. So many lives lost.

This is sickening. Those poor families. The worst part is that individual who did this had to have seen all of the children. Ugh. I don't understand.

Rashmi,
I have been really, really sad about this terrible story and the other senseless things happening in our world lately. I never know whether to post them or not. I'm glad you did.

Although news stories about children or any innocent loss of life have always resonated with me, since having my son it seems so much scarier and more crushing. The terrible crimes against the children in Idaho, the accidental deaths of children in cars, this murder in Iraq. The world seems a harsh and ugly place and it seems like there is no way to fix it. Sorry to be such a downer, but these issues have been on my mind a lot lately. When I saw this news story last night, I was just appalled and disheartened. I'll stop rambling now. Take care.

BBC was showing images of families receiving the news and grieving, and a dead baby (very small) in someone's arms. Makes you want to hit your head against a brick wall.

It's awful. Horrible. Having a child has made me so much more vulnerable, it's just scary sometimes.
