Several people I know have blog sites and I think they are so cute. I'm definately out of the loop about this, as I only understood what blogging was only about 2 months ago LOL. Anyway I would like to make my own, but I want it a secure private site where I can only invite people I know to take part of it - to many wacko's out there. My sister has hers on www.blogger.com, but I don't want to make my own there w/out knowing it's a secure place. I have family out of town, and I think this would be a fun way to include them a little more in what is up with us. Any ideas, clues, or hints for me? :)

Thanks alot!

My sister and I use livejournal.com. You can set it to have only people you want to view it. Email me offline and I'll send you mine. ;)

Isn't there an option to make it password protected? I thought there was. But, I could be mistaken.

Hey Julie! I posted a step-by-step instruction file on the Preggo Pals board on how to start your own Blog! It's in the "files" section!

Mariana,

Do you have a link? I don't know what that board is! Oh woops, never mind, I see it! Since I am not pregnant I doubt I would join, is there a possibility that you can put the info in this post?

I have a site on blogger.com and disabled the public option when I set it up. I think blogger runs a script to disable search engines if you choose that feature. I have tried pulling it up on Google several times and can never find it.

I love blogger too. I've also set it up for private use only.

You can even send photobucket images (including captions) to your blog using a "blog it" feature.

I highly recommend getting a hit counter for it too. I love seeing how many ppl visit dd's blog everyday.

I'm new to blogging, too. So far I've tried Blogger and Xanga http://www.xanga.com/ and I like Xanga a lot. First, I know NOTHING about computer stuff and Xanga is very user friendly. I get to pick all different colors for the setting without messing with the codes. You can set up to be a private site or public. I also like the "blogring" feature, where you get to see bloggers that share the same interests with you.

HTH a little :)
