Or should I hand write them? I'm due in 2 weeks and wanted to get a jump start on getitng the birth announcecment envelopes addressed/stamped. Should I hand write all the addresses or can I use my printer and a nice font? I usually handwrite all my Christmas cards, but print any kind of invitation (baby/weding shower, etc).
If it matters, I've designed the announcements and will have them printed as soon as we have a baby and a photo to include. I don't think I will be putting a personalized note in each one - or should I?
TIA,
Jenn

I don't think it's rude to not write a note in each one; I think that would be expecting a lot from a new mom.
I don't think it's rude to print the envelopes, though hand writing does give it a more personal feel and will make the recipient feel less like a number. However, we even recieve many holiday cards with printed addresses.

I printed them on our printer w/ a nice font. I tend to do all envelopes that way, so i don't see anything wrong w/ that. Labels, on the other hand, i don't like!
I didn't include a personal note - i'm sure everyone would understand that you're pretty busy!

I don't know if it's rude or not, but I would hand-print the envelopes. I definitely wouldn't include a personal note in each though!

We printed our addresses and will again this time too, I suspect.

We did labels. I had them all done and printed out ahead of time. No way I was feeding envelopes through the printer one by one.

I don't think it's rude at all to print them, but handwritten envelopes do feel a little more personal. But heck, I was doing good just to get announcements sent out at all. I think people understand that new parents are busy.
If it were thank you notes, I would feel more strongly that they should be handwritten.

I think it is totally fine to use your computer for the addresses.
Also, I don't think I've ever received a personalized note on a birth announcement, even from a close friend. That's a lot to ask of a harried new mother!

I'll be printing out labels. No harm in that! I also got some "love" stamps, and I made cute return address labels.
I will definitely hand write the thank you note cards and envelopes though.

I would print the envelopes and not worry about it. Just use a nice font. My favorite font for these kinds of things is usually Papyrus. And I don't see a need for a personal note in each one, but do include a photo. I am disappointed whenever I receive a birth announcement without a photo, though that is increasingly rare these days.
I agree with PPs about handwriting thank you notes though.

Heck, I was so exhausted, I just sent an email! :P The fact that you are actually having something to put in an envelope and add a stamp is more than enough imo!
