Jude's teacher who sang this is no longer at the school. No one there seems to know the words other than they think it is about Tommy Turtle in a tub... so something like that.

Any idea what this song is, and were I can find the words or a recording of it?

He has a cute little motion he does when he sings it himself, but I can't understand what he is saying. He loves turtles, and we are collecting turtle things for the baby's room. I would love to be able to sing the song with him.

Thanks!

This is hilarious! DH just started singing it this to DD in the bath and thought it was weird that I had never heard of it before. Here are the words that he sings:

I had a tiny turtle
His name was Tiny Tim
I put him in the bathtub
To see if he could swim

He drank up all the water
He ate up all the soap
Now he's sick in bed
With a bubble in his throat

And then he does the little lollipop thing with his finger in his mouth that makes the pop noise. If that makes sense. lol. It is very cute and now it is our bathtub song.

HTH!

LOL I knew that song as a kid, but it was slightly different and a tad bizarre, and I had not wanted to sing it to Mari. I think I like the turtle version better!

In my version, it started

"Miss Lucy (or miss Lulu) had a baby.
She named him Tiny Tim
She put him in the bathtub..."

Then the rest is the same except for the ending.

"He drank up all the water.
He ate up all the soap.
He tried to drink the bathtub.
But it wouln't go down his throat.

Miss Lucy called the doctor.
The doctor called the nurse.
The nurse called the lady
with the alligator purse."

and then I forget the rest. LOL Oh, I found the rest of my version online!

Thanks! I am going to sing this to him tonight in the tub. He'll be impressed since he has been trying to get me to sing it for a while now.
