You could drive down to Newport and shop at Hanna!

Redondo Beach pier area was kinda neat - nifty farmers market deal there in the mornings also.

What about a day at Disney?
Fashion Island, Newport Beach...not only a Hanna store, but also a nice carosel.
What about the beach?

I'd skip the Queen Mary unless you really like ships.
