View Full Version : Where to find cute nursing PJs or nightgowns? (Aimee nursing gown?)

I've looked at the usual suspects online -- Motherhood, Mimi Maternity, Gap, Babystyle (they had a good gown but sizes wouldn't work for me).

Any other suggestions? I'm sad to see so many nursing gowns are so bland/cutsie. I'd like something a little more stylish but not slutty or outrageous looking. Last time, I think I just used a giant men's oxford shirt, but I think I'd like to look a little more put together this time.

Any thoughts on where to go?

Thanks!

(ETA: I just saw Aimee nursing gowns at nursinggowns.com. Anyone have one and can tell me if it's nice? It looks neat.)

I found some cute ones at Kohl's. They aren't my usual style, but they weren't grandmotherly either.

I remember reading a post once upon a time about a new mom whose husband bought her some luxury PJs at the hospital's gift shop. She said they were so beautiful, comfortable and stylish...and they made her feel "put together" when visitors came to see the baby. They're from Pine Cone Hill, and they have a stunning array of patterns and more than a few styles (button down shirt, long pant; button down sleeveless with capris; knee-length button down, etc). She said the LS button-down set was great for breast feeding because she could just pop one side open and feed, then button up for guests. I could also see getting a nice nursing tank from glamourmom (aren't they the best?) to put under the button down, then leave the button down "open" and just lift down the flap of the tank for feedings.

My favorite is the coral toile, and I swear one day I'm going to get them (since they come in S-XL sizes)....but all in due time. I found a great website in NY that sells them for a good deal (under $60 w/ shipping). Bed of Roses, Suzy, and Atomic Dots are also very cute and stylish.

Here's a sight to view the styles (retail is elsewhere):

Good luck finding something you like!

I like some of the ones at Motherwear. I dunno if you've looked there yet (since it wasn't mentioned), but it's http://www.motherwear.com

To me, they definitely don't fit into the cutsie category, and always seemed more stylish than things I could find elsewhere.

not sure if this is too sexy, but it's certainly not bland/cutsie.

all my favorite nursing bras are from bella materna and i'm a little embarassed to say... oh well... dd has been weaned for two weeks and i'm still wearing my bella nursing bras. i tried on one of my old ones and they are so not pretty or nearly as comfortable. now i just need to find some new regular bras.

another thought would be to pair this nursing cami (i don't have the gown, but love this cami) with some of their shorts or pants. the fabric is just so awesome! and the cami was great for hiding my belly while nip :) hth

They were hard to find, but I just wore regular gowns that had buttons down to the sternum. PJs were out - too much...uh... "action" going on down there for me to bother with pants.

I received and bought pairs in XL at Nordstroms and TJMaxx that buttoned up the front. Not maternity, just plain old ones. I wear them now (8 mos preggo) and will wear them afterwards. The elastic is great. I feel like they are grow/shrink with you PJ's.

Karen something is the brand. $40-50 at Nordys, $15-$20 at TJMaxx.

IMO anything 2 piece outfit with a shorter/light top would work.

Karen Neuberger, I bet. I've got some KN pjs and nightshirts from TJ Maxx. I think they were one of Oprah's original favorite things, before she started the annual show. I wore some KN pjs in ths hospital after DS was born and found them to be very comfortable. The cotton is nice and soft and not too thin. I did buy a nursing nightgown and robe set before DS was born and I found it useless. When I was sitting up in the hospital bed, the slits never seemed to line up in the right spots. Regular PJs were much more comfy for me.
