What a nice surprise to see this! We did indeed go to the zoo. I think Avery was more fascinated by the people than the animals, but she had a great time. When we got home she had some cake, threw it on the floor, smeared it all over herself - it was perfect!

And, at 4:22 p.m., her time of birth, DH and I were trying to get a good close snuggle with her when she bopped me in the eye with the hard plastic cup she was holding then threw it on the floor where it landed on DH's foot and left a big mark. We were laughing so hard at our snuggling attempt gone awry that I had to put her down so I wouldn't drop her.

Ahhh, gosh this was absolutely the best year of my life. Even though I'm not a prolific poster (I am supposed to be working while I'm at work, IYKWIM ;)), you all have made me a better mom. Thank you!
