Where will you get your Halloween costume this year? I would love ideas for my DS. He was a cow at 2 weeks old and a bumble bee last year. I'm thinking the babystyle kangaroo this year, but I'm open to suggestions. I love Halloween and can't wait to get a costume. I figure this is the last year that I will get to pick. Thanks!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! Looking forward to it even more now that Nolan will be older. :)

For his first Halloween, about 4 mos he was the Old Navy frog. It was the cutest costume! Last year he was the Oatmeal bear, can't remember it was from Baby Central? I bought some fuzzy brown bear claw slippers at Old Navy to wear with it. It was really cute too! It was a sz 2 & fairly roomy, he may be able to wear it again this yr. I have not started looking though, but will now! :)

ETA: Here is Nalan's costume from last year.

That BabyStyle kangroo is pretty darn cute!

I guess I need to think about this too. My son was the cutest little fish last year, from babystyle.com. I'll attach a couple of pictures.

Baby Style does have some cute stuff this year!!!! We are still undecided for our boys. Mason is still going back and forth between being puss in boots (from shrek) or a cowboy. I am thinking we will try to have Aidan's costume "GO" with Mason's so he'd maybe be a Donkey (w/PIB) or a cow/indian (w/cowboy). We'll see... Mason can be very indecisive!

My DS was also the Babystyle fish last year!! The year before that he was a peapod. I really haven't found anything I love this year. DH and I are considering Chuckie from Childs Play.

Yes, I think it was Sears. We had pictures taken when he was a peapod too so I guess we started some kind of tradition.

That is soooo cute!! I love the matching Robeez. My biggest problem is that it is so HOT here so I cannot bear to put DS in some furry get up. That is why Halloween is so hard.

the costume came with FOUR furry feet... i guess monkeys need extra sets of feet, lol. But, he refused to wear them so had to go with the robeez.

I might do a Devil this year. I noticed you said dh and you are thinking of Chucky...wow, my dh would never get into those type of decisions. You've gotta post the peapod pic too.

LOL, actually my DH is more into Halloween than I am. I remember the first year we were dating he got upset because I didn't want to dress up. He had managed to get matching cowboy and cowgirl costumes :) I'll try to get a picture of the peapod. It needs to be scanned.

My SIL tells me that they go fast, so when should I start to be on the look out?

ETA I love the monkey w/Robeez -we'll have to be on the lookout for a turtle costume.

Last year DS was the Gymboree beagle. (I also had the babystyle fish and peapod to decide from!) This year I want him to be a chicken. I haven't seen too many chicken costumes though. Evidently there was one from Old Navy last year, I keep seeing them on ebay. I've heard about one at BRU, but haven't seen it so I don't know if it is what I'm looking for. If all else fails I will make it, using the Martha Stewart directions.

This will be dd's first Halloween. We got her the Tom Arma brown bear cub. It is so cute!

ETA: We considered all dressing up like Mariachis, so we gould be the three amigos, which is our favorite movie. DH even found a place to rent costumes for me and him. But he thought I could just whip up a costume for the baby (his grandma can make anything). I had to remind him that I don't sew.

I made mine last year for my then 17 month old. He was a pirate, and it was VERY cute and easy to do--just a vest, silky sash with fringe and pants. My nephew, same age, was a cowboy with the same pattern--vest and "chaps" worn over jeans. For my SIL and I, the fun part that really made the costume was the accessories. In the pic, which was at the end of a very long evening, the boys are tired and you can't see the costumes well but they both had fun appropriate hats and they both had painted designs on the back of the vests--skull and crossbones for DS and a big sheriff's star for his cousin.

BTW, that's not me!

Very cute!! I love DIY costumes since my mom always made our costumes when I was young and I hope to do the same :) I made DS the first year (a puppy copied roughly from another pattern out of family fun mag) and last year couldn't find the parts I needed to make a horse costume so ended up using a cr*ppy "over the clothes" monkey - it was really dumb!! I like the idea of coordinating the costumes so I"m starting to think of ideas. Keep the DIY pics coming!!!! If I can find one of the puppy I'll post it :)

I wish, wish, wish Land's End was selling costumes again this year (I can't find any on their website right now).

Payton was a tiger last year (I picked this pic to show his cute tail!).

i also love the diy costumes and was just perusing the simplicity book at walmart this morning... thinking maybe a monkey as my dh keeps saying the mischievous monkey from one of our books is dd's mascot (he's thinking it would be great for her first tattoo!!! and no she won't be getting any before she's old enough to vote!)

last year at almost 3 mo she was a froggie princess! i had a froggie baby cap from tru and dyed a pair of tights green and then she had on a princess dress. it really was very cute and basically out of her dresser except for the green dye!

I saw a rooster that looked pretty cute at Costco today. Only $12. :)

They also had a pink flamingo that would be cute on a girl, for anyone who may be looking.
