Sigh. I think the spammers are on to my main email address, as I have all of a sudden gotten a lot of junk emails for investments, Rolexes, prescription drugs, etc. I have also been getting some suspicious empty emails that I suspect are mass mails phishing for valid email addresses (i.e. if they don't bounce, they're valid). I know that one of the Macintosh mail programs allows you to bounce unwanted emails, so I wanted to ask if there was a way to do this in Outlook Express. If not, what mail program should I consider switching to?

Thanks very much,
Chris

Just wondering--do you have Comcast internet? I am getting tons of spam for the same things. Always to random comcast people. I keep meaning to call them and yell, but they're always sooo friendly and helpful (Insert eye rolling here).

Yes indeed, it is Comcast. Maybe they have a weak spot in their network that is allowing all this junk through. Arrgh!

Same here! And Norton Anti-Spam is crap, as best I can tell. It funnels some stuff into a spam folder, although half the time it's wrong. And it misses things I have dedicated as spam specifically. Then another whole bunch of stuff shows up in my main inbox with the Norton Anti-Spam label beside it-- yet still in my inbox. Between Norton and Comcast, there's not much blocking of spam happening at all.

I have the SAME issues with Cox. It's so aggravating! I started getting the Rolex one recently too. I wish I could reply to them all & send them a virus or fill up their inbox with spam! }(

We're having the same issues with charter. I can handle the Rolex and mortgage ones but the porn ones with the *f* word in the title make me see red.

We have comast too, but also lots of stuff comes through Yahoo. And I've been getting more at work too, which is a totally different network and software.

My theory on the recent upswing is that the message subjects are becoming more like English (for example, "logician, dedicated to you" ?). So the Spam filters are having trouble knowing to throw this junk out.

Me too! I also get ones about muc(spelled backward) shots. How can people do that!?! I hate that these people can send emails that will "poison" my mind with their perverted-ness. Call me naive if you like, but I neither want nor need to know about any of it.
