We just got home from our very fun week at my Mom's summer house (sans Mom :-) ). We had a great time with friends, playing at the beach, just hanging out. A little excitement in the middle-Jack fell from DH's shoulders after he kicked him in the head and dh lost his grip. Jack fell to the grass and split his chin open. I was watching a tennis match with Anna-a good 100 yds away and they were totally out of my sight but I thought I heard something and started walking and then saw them at a distance and started running. My little bugs chin was split from end to end! An emergency boat ride to the hospital and 7 stitches later he was back to himself. The next day we were walking to the beach and dh asked Jack if he wanted to get up on his shoulders and Jack said "Yes but I won't kick you daddy".
Anna had fun, too-she is growing like mad-laughing and just being a joy.

Sounds like a fun trip despite the craziness of Jack's fall! Poor little guy. He sounds like a trooper, though. :)

Oh man poor little bug Jack ... he and Tristan will have stories to share about their stiches, though Jack's sure does sound more glam glam "taking a boat to get stiches" what a story that will make in 20 years when he is at the local pub at Grandmas home telling that to his friends :)

And Anna...look how bright and beautiful!!!!

Welcome home!!! stiches and all!!!

What a gorgeous little girl!!

And the Red Sox fan is so funny with his "I won't kick you daddy". I had stiches in the same exact spot Jack has them a long time ago, and though I can feel them a little if I touch, you can never tell...

Too cute! That pic is adorable even with the poor little muffins stitches.

I hope he is better soon. I'm sure that was not fun for you guys to deal with.

Glad you're back Barb! :)

Anna has gotten soooo big already, btw. Jack is a little man too in the pic by the water. Wow!

Aww...what a beautiful family you have! I especially love the pictures of Anna in her hat and Jack with his stitches. Poor little guy--I'm sure he won't even remember it in a few months. :)

Barbara,
How did Anna get so big? She is such a beauty. And Jack is as handsome as ever, even with those stitches. My husband has a scar in the same place from falling on stairs in Hawaii at about age 3. Like Neve said, Jack will have a great story to tell. You have a gorgeous family (you and husband look great) and it looks like you had fun. Glad you were able to take a vacation before you start your new venture!

Barbara-
I love the pics! Thanks for sharing them and your story.

Glad Jack's feeling better and got right back into "the saddle." That's a sign of a real winner. Can't wait to see him catching fly balls at Fenway with that drive!

DH got stitches under this chin a few years ago after an unfortunate basketball incident. When we went to the hospital, the doc who sewed him up said he had stiches in the same place and that some huge number (50%, I believe he quoted) of men have stitches under the chin. I mention that everytime I meet a guy with a scar there (and I've seen several). Jack just earned his stripes early!
