hello, i'm new to the post here but i've been reading for along time so i thought i'd see what ideas you guys have.
we are having a baby girl in november, its been quite a ride since we are using a gestational surrogate. anyways we have a name picked out which is Jillian but i can't think of a middle name i like. of course marie seems to flow real well but i would like something different. that seems to be a name alot of people use. although i like it i would like something different. any suggestions?
thank you heidi

Congratulations, Heidi!

My name is Jill (although not Jillian, which I think is so pretty!) and my middle name is Elizabeth. I think Jillian Elizabeth sounds nice (I'm also biased since Elizabeth is my DD's name, LOL).

What about your maiden name or your mother's maiden name? Any family names that you like?

Good luck!

Do you have any family names that sound good? I always like to use a name that means something, whether it is a family name, or a name that means something which fits.

I think a 2 syllable name would sound best...like Marie, but I understand why you don't want to use that. And also a name with the stress on the last syllable...

How about

Nicole
Renee
Elise
Kathleen

Just a few that I could come up with off of the top of my head.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide!!

I also like Jillian Elizabeth, but Elizabeth is also my first name. ;)

Some other possibilities:

Jillian Anne (Nice flow, although Anne is fairly common).
Jillian Reese

Depending on your last name, you may want a single syllable middle name.

Eileen,

I didn't know that Elizabeth was your first name?! It is one of my favorite names (I did name DD that!).

Yup. That's very cool that we share a name! :) Funny that neither of us is going by it. :P

I'm partial to the middle name Jane. So simple, sweet, undeniably feminine, and sounds good.

Jillian Jane
and she can go by her initials "JJ"

Family names always work well.

My middle name is Elizabeth too. ;)

I'm dying to use the name Jane. It was my grandmother's middle name, and I need a baby girl so I can use it!!! My grandpa is 94, so I need to have the baby girl soon so that he can hold the baby that's named after his late wife.

I also like how you can use the "j" for a nickname - pj, cj, aj, jj, etc. Perfect!

I just read the roster of my first class, and there was a student named Jillian Layne. Another idea, so I thought I'd share!

I tend to lean towards a one syllable middle name with the name Jillian. We have a friend with the name Jillian Grace and she is just SO adorable. Not that it means anything but it makes me like the name even more. :) I'm also a supporter of using family names for middle names. Are there any special grandparents, greatgp, aunts, etc. that have a name that you could use? My boys both have family names as middle names and I love it. It's just a little tribute to important people in our lives.

I also like the name Jane a lot! I've thought of possibly naming a future daughter(if it happens, doesn't seem likely!!) Genevieve after my maternal grandmother. She was a wonderful person who unfortuntately died when I was 9. I thought of maybe calling our child Janie as a nickname. Do you think that is stretching it too much? Sorry, not trying to steal your post!! :)
