DH just turned it on and Kai has not taken his eyes off of it for a second. He was fascinated with the images in the opening credits and has lost interest yet. Weird. At least there isn't any bad language in it!

Can anyone explain why my DH is enthralled by Napoleon Dynamite? ;)

Can't explain that one... my DH was watching it and I had to ask what the lame looking movie was. Then I noticed it looked like home! So I had to watch until the end credits to find out where it was filmed. Shot on location in Idaho - I grew up in Montana. Close... However, I didn't understand the movie at all.

Umm...does it mean something that I had no idea what you were talking about? I had to IMDB it to find out if you were talking about a movie, a tv show, a news show....

I know why my 1-year old would like the opening credits... the White Stripes song that they play "We are gonna be friends." It's one of my "theme songs" for her and I sing and play it for her all the time. Could that be it? Kind of a sing-songy quality to it.

Of course, my DD would probably like the dance scene near the end too.

Idiots!
(I'm actually *not* a huge fan of the movie, but I've seen it.)

I bet it was the song. About 10 minutes in he got up and started turning off the TV!

I actually think the movie is hysterically funny, BTW, but I understand those that think it's stupid!

O.k., my DH says he likes it because of all the '80s music in it. I admit I watched the last like 10 minutes of it, just because I was amazed at how silly it was!

I had to laugh last Sunday while looking through the sales ads. For the longest times I kept seeing all these shirts that said "Vote for Pedro" on them in the sales ads, especially for Kohl's. I would always wonder wth they meant...know that I saw part of the movie I've figured it out! ;)

I just watched it the other night too. I love the wacky "catchphrases" too. It was cool to see Jon Heder is in the new Reese Witherspoon/Mark Ruffalo movie, Just Like Heaven. I caught the trailer the other day and said, "Wow, he looks familiar, straight hair and all."

I don't know, but we watched it two weekends ago during Sarah's nap and she woke up beofre it was over and enjoyed watching the rest of it with us.

BTW, I'm so happy I now know what the "Vote for Pedro" and other t-shirts are all about! :)

I loved Napolean Dynamite - reminds me of the year 2005 version of the Breakfast Club/Sixteen Candles kinda movies. :)

The first time around I was hesitantly enjoying myself, but it really grows on you. Now I'll turn it on while I'm nursing or if I need a pick-me-up. And like you said - no language or sex so it's ok in front of Ainsleigh! My dad loves the movie, so I just got him a "Vote for Pedro" shirt for his birthday. Have you watched the deleted scenes? Anyway, I think the movie is hilarious, and am glad it's doing so well in video sales.

DS loves this site because of the Dancing Banana, Elvis living in flash and the Llama song. Found this on here the other night. Enjoy!

Oh, that's SO my DH too! I mean, I think it's a stupid funny kind of movie & enjoyed it a bit but my DH absolutely LOVED it. Men. lol I refused to buy it for his birthday...my Mom got it for him instead.
